The Rio 290 is the clever one in the family. Rather than growing longer, it grows deeper and taller — 51 cm of depth and 66 cm of height turn a one-metre footprint into a 290-litre column of water. The result is unusual creative freedom: tall driftwood, dramatic rockwork and large showpiece fish all fit where only a 180 used to. It stands on the taller 80 cm cabinet for a commanding eye-level view.

Allow the aquarium's footprint of 101 × 51 cm plus a few centimetres behind for cables. On its matching cabinet the water surface sits at roughly 146 cm — comfortable viewing height from a couch or chair. A filled aquarium weighs about 334 kg with glass and hardscape, which the cabinet and safety base frame are engineered to carry — no extra support needed on a solid floor.
